Flamenco Tank Refashion Tutorial - Ok, so maybe I’m a little obsessed with redoing jerseys now. But they are so easy and fun and it dresses up a plain t! Gotta love that. S0 I thought of this one with a wide, “flamenco looking” collar. What I did was took one of my husband’s shirts.
Maternity Shirt Renovation… - You know what? Maternity shirts can be VERY cute.
Also? Maternity shirts can be VERY flattering.
However? Maternity shirts worn when 8 months (gah!) postpartum may still be VERY cute…but are VERY unflattering.
So today I started cutting them up.

Hidden elasticated waist skirt tutorial - I made this skirt partly because I wanted something uber-comfortable to wear, and partly because I needed a skirt in a hurry (and zips take so much time!) BUT I like to tuck in shirts and the like, and an elasticated waist can look a bit mumsy if you’re over the age of ten so I added a fixed sash belt to cover the gathering.
pj’s to summer tunic tutorial! - i have been spotting all the cute tunic shirts with a drawstring lately and decided that i wanted to make one of my own. after i couldn’t find a pattern that i could actually understand i decided to wing it - my fave thing to do! the result was a pair of my favourite jammies providing me with inspiration, a splash of fun colour and an easy way to make a stylish, customizable tunic, romper, or dress! so go get out your fave pj’s or raid La Senza and sew your way to a stylish summer must have!
Sewing-A 1950’s Waistcoat - Each Tuesday for the next six weeks, I am going to be posting sewing patterns for that perfect ‘50’s fall wardrobe. They come from Sewing Magic, written by Mary Brooks Picken and published originally in 1952 (my copy is from 1955). Using Mrs. Picken’s instructions, anyone with intermediate sewing skills should be able to make the following: a fitted waistcoat, a suit consisting of a straight skirt (long or short) and bolero jacket, a sheath dress and shrug, and finally a car coat or topper.
